To register to vote a person must be a resident of Oregon, a US Citizen and 18 or older.

Mail-in registration forms are available at banks, schools, post offices, libraries, fire stations, city halls, in phone books, on the web, at the Department of Motor Vehicles and at Lane County Elections. Information on precincts, wards or voting districts is available at Lane County Elections.

Registration forms must be postmarked or received in the Lane County Elections Office by 5 p.m. on the 21st day before an election. Re-registration is necessary if a voter changes name, address, or party affiliation.

Voters may register in a political party or may register as "not a member of a party." For the primary election, unaffiliated voters will receive ballots for issues and non-partisan candidates. In the general election they are eligible to vote for party candidates.
