The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization encourages informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The purpose of the League of Women Voters is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government and to act on selected government al issues. The League does not support nor oppose any political party or any candidate.
The League of Women Voters of Lane County operates in accordance with the Mission Statement and Purpose and Policy as stated above. It is one of 1100 Leagues in the United States, one of 16 Leagues in the State of Oregon.
The League of Women Voters United States (LWVUS) has an office in Washington, D. C. The League of Women Voters of Oregon (LWVOR) has an office in the state capital of Salem. The League of Women Voters of Lane County (LWVLC) has an office in Eugene, Oregon.
The LWVLC office is staffed by member volunteers.
Hours from September through May are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. During the months of June, July, and August the hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 12 to 2 p.m.

The president of LWVLC will represent the League when an official statement is appropriate; this responsibility may be delegated to another member when duties conflict.
Members stating their opinions at public meetings or in letters to
the editors should refrain from adding that they belong to the League.
If asked, they should acknowledge membership but point out that
they spea k only for themselves.
